8 TOP TRENDS FROM MILAN FASHION WEEK SS17
Ciao, Milano! At this point, a few overarching themes have begun to crystallize — like pajama dressing and fun, happy clothing, for instance. It's a widely known fact that nobody in fashion does frivolity like the Italians, and this season, Milan's designers brought the sequins, logos and belt bags galore. In addition, we saw a sporty undercurrent on the Milan Fashion Week runways, which further solidifies our theory that athleisure is here for the long haul. PAJAMA PARTY

If you didn't get the message during New York or London, the Milan shows made it clear that sleepwear is among the biggest trends for spring 2017. Decadent PJs turned up at Prada (where they were trimmed with feathers), Dolce & Gabbana, and Ports 1961.
GET SPORTY

There was a big push for sportswear in Milan — more so than in any of the other major cities thus far this season. Donatella Versace led the charge with graphic nylon parkas and leggings, while other brands like Max Mara and MSGM followed suit with athletic-inspired performance gear.

It was a Studio 54 redux on the Milan runways, where Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci's Alessandro Michele sent out statement-making sequined looks that shimmered like disco balls under the lights. We hope you're ready to party come spring.
THE BELT BAG

Forget the "fanny pack" stigma: Belt bags are chicer and bigger than ever — literally, as in the case of Marni's hip-slung utility bag. The hands-free look also got play at Jil Sander and Tod's.
LOGO A-GO-GO

The coolest way to pledge your allegiance to a brand — at least according to Milan runways including Gucci and Moschino — is wearing an item stamped with the label's logo. (The Dolce & Gabbana finale featured a stampede of models in D&G T-shirts paired with ornate miniskirts, too.) We've seen the resurgence of logomania permeate designers' collections for a few seasons now, and it's clearly continuing through spring.
MILITARY JACKETS

We've noticed plenty of chic showgoers hitting the fashion month circuit in military jackets — just like the ones we've seen on the spring runways. In Milan, designers sent out inventive riffs on traditional officers' jackets, decorated with epaulets, gold buttons, and all sorts of passementerie.

Knitwear remains a major sales category for designers all year long, which is likely why knits were so popular on the Milan runways. Highlights included gorgeous crocheted dresses and peplum tops from Missoni, MSGM and more.
