MEETINGS
A look in the shade before the heat wave hit us another time. Matching dresses with skinny jeans/pants, has been a popular go-to look in my everyday wear. I tend to gravitate more towards the most fitted/structured dresses that still slide down easily like a shirt, but not as oversized as you would find most people wearing. Less is more, and a clean silhouette will always be a modern silhouette.
Can't go without mentioning how I am loving to find lots of you on other social media, I've been all this time diving on Instagram, scrolling and posting my updates. However, since it is changing, I though it can after all turn up to be a good thing for other apps as some people are starting to loose their interest. The moment Instagram looses its salt, and becomes too businessy, we know we won't spend as much time there. :) So I am betting that focused apps where we can separate family from friends and work will maybe turn up to be the next thing. It's like evolution, we come all together and then we separate into groups, to then come all together and separate into groups again. These apps will probably be the ones you already find online, such as the fashion focused and the technology focused, sports, nature, etc
Some of the apps I am betting on with my presence at the moment are Cuuura, a place where you can vote for the best photo and have your wardrobe in pictures. It's so easy and fun to use. Plus you can literally steal someone's clothing to your wishlist by pressing the picture you like or save it to your phone. (secretly wishing it would suddenly appear in our closets!). Another one I am now more active is Lookbook, it has been around for years. In the early days it made a lot of fashion influencers famous such as Kristina Bazan, Chiara Ferragni and Aimee Song. Now, it used to be better, the feed used to show you the best/most voted styles on top, but they changed it about a year ago or so, to make it more fair to the smaller/less voted people, looking to turn it more into a community of people and less of a style competition place. I used to love how it was, it seemed more fair, now it's quite vague and random, however it's still a nice place to share your looks and see what everyone is wearing. My last bet is online market places such as Depop and Vinted. I joined recently and it has been great. I believe that overtime we will all be selling our clothing (and other things) online, since we been through a very materialistic/consumerism wave. I believe most of us will start to find more interest in specific things and experiences and less on the small stuff. There's a good activity in these marketplaces in UK and US, not only I believe it will start to expand to other countries as there's a huge chance products will loose value and you won't be able to get as much money for those denim shorts as you can now, so it is definitely a good time to join.
About the look, I am wearing this jacquard dress from Zara, it's so comfortable. Missed my leather mules so badly when in Paris (as much as the sun!) so coming back to these was such a delight! They are my favourite at the moment, quite similar to Givenchy's and 3.1 Philip Lim's. Although I am currently on the hunt for some better quality sunglasses, as I rarely go out without ones, these Quay have been working quite well with my outfits lately.
