THE 7 BIGGEST TRENDS FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK

THE 7 BIGGEST TRENDS FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK

'90S
It's hard to sum up the '90s in one word, and the spring looks inspired by the decade proved just that. Grunge? Minimal? Parisian designers managed to capture it all.

VOLUMINOUS SLEEVES
A trend with an Old English spin, voluminous sleeves have been everywhere this season — thanks in large part to designers inspired by Victoriana — but no city saw more of them than Paris.

MACK THE KNIFE
Whether on a kilt or splashed all over a garment, knife pleats were the leading edge in Paris.

ROCKER CHIC
There was a distinct rocker vibe to many collections in Paris — some skewed more Bowie, others channeled the '80s mega rock stars. Either way, we wouldn't be too surprised to see a guitar strapped to any of these looks.

WHITE
Black is usually the story in Paris (and believe us, it still is), but it's hardly a trend if it happens every season. For spring, the city is lightening up a bit, and designers seemed to favour parades of all-white looks.

HIDDEN HAWAIIAN PRINTS
Palm frond prints are typically seen on Hawaiian shirts and the like, but things are a bit different in Paris for spring. If you're into a jacket with this friendly print, then you're in for a treat.

BOWS
Looks adorned with bows — and there were many — stepped away from the overtly feminine and more towards a relaxed and floppy feel. Ruffles have been experiencing the same thing for spring in every Fashion Month city.
