SAVOY SACCHARUM
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to spend the day in the beautiful Calheta, where ocean breeze and palm trees are the ones to blame for the tropical mood that makes us not want to leave.
Savoy Saccharum is a recently built hotel in the area with the most amazing view of the Atlantic ocean and exquisite in nature touch. The entrance is an open space filled with sofas background music and outstanding stairs. The place is filled with extraordinary designs by Nini Andrade Silva who has inspired herself in contemporary designs and sugar cane. (Saccharum, meaning sugar in latin)
We were delighted to visit the rooftop where the infinity pool is surrounded by an outstanding view, facing the up close mountains filled with greenery, giving a real in nature feel. The entire space is not in the usual light resort colours, however, the darker palette makes it stand out as a much more refined and sophisticated place.
The facilities offer private access to the sea, a large Spa, and a gym. It has three outdoor pools and an interior one, three restaurants serving Buffet, A La Carte and barbecue, and four bars one with live music and one on the beach. It also has a game room with a squash court and Kids Club. The hotel provides indoor and outdoor parking if you choose to rent a car during your stay, and a private shuttle to the capital of the Island. Ah, and of course: free wi-fi throughout the hotel!
Just like the hotel itself, each room is ultra spacious offering a huge balcony and an extraordinary view. Couldn’t go without mentioning the Spa - a total delight! A super calm and welcoming space where they describe as “unique sensory experiences, in a refined and luxury environment”. The Saccharum Spa offers a wide range of treatments to revitalize the body and mind. It has four massage rooms, sauna, Turkish bath, jacuzzi, ice fountain, sensorial showers, halotherapy room, relaxation room and heated indoor pool. The best part is that if you choose to stay in a premium room or suite you will have absolute free access to the spa!
About the look, after spending the day out exploring the area I decided to wear something nicer to match the ambient of the hotel. I had recently found this Jetset Diaries dress while shopping online and decided to order it without any plans on when to wear it. It is such an easy dress to wear, super comfortable with a good fitting. I didn’t bring many accessories with me as I like to pack light, but I did pack a couple silver accessories to consider for a dinner out. The shoes probably come with no surprise, these Valentino rock studs heels are my favourite, they are likely my most worn luxury piece in my closet. They are super elegant and really make any look stand out.
